68S - Initial Launch
Need to finish and submit this on time for the Zine Idea Generator 2.0 Jam more than I need to write lots of notes here. Besides, most of what's interesting about this is already on the main page!
So, let's talk about what didn't make it into this version that might end up in a future one:
- I wanted to add the RickDate (68S) to this zine for my own record-keeping purposes. I needed to finish more than I needed a cryptic notation most people wouldn't understand. Then again, it IS a Zine, and most folks who like these are totally into that sort of thing.
- I was hoping to design a more Ransom-style "Zine-y" logo for the Pocket Studio. What I chose to do instead (using a different font for "Pocket Studio™️") works pretty well, though! It also has the added bonus of being able to sprinkle the branding throughout the manual for added humor. (It did make resizing the logo kinda difficult, though.)
- I wanted to so 3D illustrations (vs. top-down SVG outlines) for the cover art. Again, I'm on a time crunch, so I've not figured out how to make those yet. I didn't feel like yoinking a screenshot out of TinkerCAD, either.
I plan to have a few of these that include the clipboard printed out and on hand at Dragon Con 2022. I don't have a table this year for my comic books and zines, though! If you want one, you're going to have to get lucky or keep an eye out on my Twitter feed.
Still need to finish submitting this, so... enjoy!
